The founder of OffChain Kyiv, Dmitry Prokopenko, opened the meeting by sharing his experience in creating the OffChain project in Shanghai, China. “After the pandemic, the world lacks live communications. That’s why the COVID restrictions have just subsided. We started a series of meet-up events, and a year later, more than 20 cities around the world supported such an initiative. Today we opened Kyiv,” Prokopenko said.

The first speaker was Yuri Yekhanurov, professor at the Taras Shevchenko National University, shared his experience of working with students. “When we started summing up the results of last year’s student competition ‘Blockchain comes to Ukraine’, we realized that all of the participants are talented young people, thousands of students who can contribute to developing this area,” the professor said.

Ivan Paskar, Marketing Manager of Binance Ukraine, talked about the rapid development of NFT technologies, as well as the fact that Ukraine ranks 3rd in terms of the number of active users of this trend on Binance. “We always only support social events. Offchain is an interesting project that we would also like to support,” Ivan emphasized.

Natalia Drik, Director of the Blockchain Association of Ukraine, noted the importance of creating communities that can act as objects and subjects of Ukrainian legislation. It is communities like OffChain that can form ecosystems to create a favorable environment for developing blockchain technologies.
